Review of Byzantium (2013) by Moya W — 16 Nov 2013
I honestly don't really know what I thought of this movie. It wasn't a typical vampire movie and I appreciate that. It definitely gets a bonus for originality and unpredictability. But that just wasn't enough when it came to Byzantium. It started off good, it had an interesting storyline and some really good narrations. I guess it was just a bit too long and after a while it started getting boring and you started getting distracted.
Despite how many times they tried to tell you the characters' stories you still couldn't really comprehend it all. Saoirse Ronan was amazing as always and Gemma Arterton was great as well. But there was still just too much missing for this movie to be any good.
In some movies all you really need is something original and unpredictable with great acting. But this movie needed something more to prevent me from getting distracted,and sadly it didn't succeed.
