Byzantium offers an innovative and interesting concept but does very little to develop it to its full potential. Jordan creates a fascinating bridge between the past and modern day as the story unfolds and some intriguing twists unroll, but its the two female leads, Arterton and Ronan, that truly give this fantasy a hint of horror.
