Review of Butterfly and Sword (1993) by Tory L — 31 Jul 2007
So the first time I watched it was back in middle school and at the time, I really, really loved the theme song. I remember my brother and I recording the song from our VCR because we loved it so much.
The movie wasn't bad either, but after watching it again recently, it wasn't as great as I thought it was back then. Sure, the fighting scenes are nice with Michelle Yeoh and Tony Leung flying everywhere chopping heads off, but I felt like the story was boring and it didn't really explain much about Butterfly and her significance in it all.
Why Butterfly Sword? All in all, it's an ok film, but I've seen much better from Yeoh and Leung.
