Review of BUtterfield 8 (1960) by Kwynn P — 02 Jan 2008
Even though her previous films were better, this was the one that brought Elizabeth Taylor the Oscar. She did deserve it though cause she dominates Ãt from its memorable silent begining and had up to that time never been as strong a star personality than she is here.
Only Mildred Dunnock and Betty Field gets a foot or two in the door - this was obviously a film designed to get Taylor an Oscar.
