Review of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969) by Eric M — 10 Apr 2010

I find Newman and Redford's second film, The Sting, to be a much better one than this. I don't feel for Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. They are just two-bit hoodlums stealing from trains and banks.

They're not charming enough as they are in The Sting nor is there any past about the characters revealed as to why we should care for them when they're breaking the law. There are definitely some lines and scenes that are memorable, but the film isn't as outstanding as it gets praised.
