Review of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969) by Benjamin Z — 04 Dec 2010
From an Oscar's winning screenplay by William Goldman,"Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" is one of the best buddy pictures ever, with Robert Redford and Paul Newman at the height of their careers, teaming up and giving us two of the most magical and wonderful perfomances from the sixties, and which they will repeat four years later with even more success and under the same direction of George Roy Hill:"The Sting".
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid is an awesome combination of smart, original screewriting, beautiful photography, and star power. Exciting, funny, and romantic from star to finish,it's one of the best offbeat character study/action comedy in the Western genre.
Including some of the most memorables lines and scenes in movie history,it's a genial film.Movies just don't come more attractive and likeable than this one that often!!!
