Review of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969) by Jordan K — 28 Sep 2015
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid is an extremely appealing, unique, and captivating western comedy that originally had me questioning bits and piece and impressed me by the middle. The characters and the chemistry between Newman and Redford make the film incredible and one of the greatest ever.
Feared outlaws Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid make a plan to start a series of mass heists in Bolivia, along the way robbing trains and gun slinging all the while to save themselves from evident danger in every corner.
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, a "mostly true" biopic western, is captivating and incredible. Originally I noticed the lack of plot in the beginning but when the characters enter Bolivia things kicked off. Butch Cassidy successfully packs everything in one: action, comedy, and an exciting story. The chemistry between Newman and a show stealing incredible performance by Redford make it what it is. The Sundance Kid may be one of my favorite film characters - he's a tough gun slinging renegade of sorts that is hard not to appreciate. Not many cons here except it hasn't aged so well and the beginning of the film tends not to know what to do with the story. Amazing film.
