Review of Burnt by the Sun (1994) by Tamer E — 24 Dec 2007
This is one of my favourite films. When the Colnoel was driven to his fate, and even beated humiliated in front of his community and people, he remained solid and gave Dimitri a strong look. Shortly Demitri whistled the song the colonel used to sing with his daughter, as if he informing him that his revenge will reach his daughter as well, here the colonel cried and weaped loudly.
A very touching moment and acted to perfection by the actor/director Nikita Mikhalkov.
