Review of Burnt (2015) by David M — 23 Feb 2016
I honestly think this is the best culinary inspired movie in recent times, better than chef, maybe not as good as the one about julia child, but with a fantastic amount of passion. Having worked in the industry for the past 5 years and knowing what goes on in the kitchen, the egos, the drive, the work and with a grasp of the environments in competitive kitchens, I can tell you that this movie has for more layers than the standard viewer might see.
But for those that are in the industry, this movie is a passion igniter. For the people I know in the industry that have seen this movie they feel the same way, or can also relate based on their experiences and if it can push people forward and ignite that drive in those that do care, then I think this movie has done a fantastic job and deserves much high praise.
So thank you to the writers and directors that put the effort into the research and having on site chefs to make this movie feel real, and for all the actors that made it come to life.
