Review of Burnt (2015) by Stephani B — 09 Apr 2016
I don't think I want to dislike Bradley Cooper. I have nothing against him, but he seems to be playing a very strange game of one-upmanship with himself. Every year, he looks at the terrible, unlikeable character he played last year, and he says to himself, "Nah, I can do worse." This movie is his crown jewel in that regard. There is no angle from which I could conceivably like this character, and since he's the center of the story, I don't like the movie. No, scratch that; I HATE the movie and I wish I could punch this fictional character in the face.
However, Daniel Bruhl's face makes me very happy, and his was the only tolerable character in this frakkin' train wreck.
