Review of Burn After Reading (2008) by Jonathan W — 04 Feb 2012

Here's a quick question: What kind of a movie do the Coen Bros. make after a gripping drama. The answer: a screwball comedy, and that's exactly what Burn After Reading is. The film has a colorful cast of characters.

My favorites include the foul mouthed alcoholic C.I.A. agent, played by John Malkovich and the dimwitted gym trainer, played by Brad Pitt. THe characters are dumb and it's fun to watch them intertwine in this funny story.

The movie isn't for everyone though. The movie really has a one note plot and some are put off by the violence comedy (even though 99% of all Coen Bros. films have graphic violence). The Coen Bros.

have made better comedies, but it's still entertaining.
