Review of Burlesque (2010) by Sun T — 15 Jul 2011
If you're a sucker for musicals, simple and predictable storylines (in the right mood ofcourse) then watch this. I never liked Chicago or Moulin Rouge, but this is one "musical" that I enjoyed, I thought christina aguilera was amazing and watching her sing throughout the movie was totally worth it.
her sensational vocals are portrayed well here. the story ofcourse lacks the depth and realism of how burlesque actually was, but for such a simple story you'd forgive the exclusion of cynicism and sexist truth of burlesque.
the solution to the problem at the end...was cool...i thought. purely for the performances of CA..i'd watch this.
