Review of Burlesque (2010) by Javier T — 19 Jul 2011
Now first off this film has so many clichà (C)s its unbelievable, I mean you know how the plot is going to play out so why bother? Well its a really fun, camp and enjoyable ride getting there you don't really care.
It sure has the star power of Cher and Xtina but its Stanley Tucci that steals the show, he's just hilarious. The songs are OK, nothing really groundbreaking, has a certain Aguilera feel to it (shame she didn't use this approach to her flop Bionic album) and they do suit the film.
The only track that got my attention was ''Express''. With all of its faults you can't help but love this film! Go in with low expectations and you will enjoy it for what it is. Trashy but fun!
