Review of Burlesque (2009) by Sandy K — 28 Jul 2011
The story is a bit thin (small-town Midwestern girl makes it as a performer in L.A. through talent and determination), but it doesnâ(TM)t really matter since this film is all about showcasing Christina Aguilera belting out songs, along with some entertaining dancing numbers.
It was fun to see Cher in her role as club owner â" cynical on the outside but warm-hearted inside â" and Stanley Tucci is charming as her right-hand man.
