Review of Burke & Hare (2010) by Heather C — 29 Oct 2010
From the outset Burke and Hare has all the promise of a classic British comedy, authentic period settings and costumes, and an array of 'I know the face but not the name' film and TV stars both young and old occupy most of its 90 minute duration.
However, with a running time so condensed much needed character development is cut short by overzealous editing while a lot of the humour in the story zips by unnoticed. On the plus side you do get to see a typically exuberant Michael Winner career wildly over a cliff edge, a grisly spectacle which will doubtless satisfy many a punter this Halloween.
