Review of Burden of Dreams (1982) by Corey C — 08 Feb 2009
The film Fitzcalraldo is an interesting watch but when you view Burden of Dreams the realization of what Herzog went through to get it made, the film's impressiveness jumps tenfold. To watch this is frustrating simply because it seems like nothing will go right for the crew.
Woven into this story is the trials of the natives who make up the most fascinating part of this tale. I actually think it's better than Fitzcalraldo itself.
