Review of Bumblebee (2018) by Mitch W — 19 Jan 2019
This movie really does not deserve the 92 it has at the moment from critics. It's a very boring story, the whole "edgy girl who likes rock music and cars and doesn't fit in" cliche is so fucking tired that it's hard to take any of the characters seriously.
Speaking of the characters, it's just so hard to care about any of them except for Bumblebee. The only effort and getting you to care for the main character is telling us her dad is dead every three minutes.
The vice vice antagonists are the most cliche boring high school girls ever, John Cena gives a moderate performance as the vice antagonist, though (Predictably) he changes at the end, and the Decepticons are just boring.
However, the fight scenes were very fun to watch, and the CGI did look incredible, but overall that is just enough to warrant a 45 from me.
