Review of Bumblebee (2018) by Taylor W — 23 Dec 2018
They finally gave die hard comic/G1 fans what they want. It fits a Bumblebee spotlight perfectly. You could say I "got into" the franchise through the Bay films. After hearing from everyone (including those who grew up on the G1 series) that the movies were awful I took a look further and realised they were right.
This movie held the original personas in tact, showed female transformers exist for more than a millisecond (Arcee was a main character later in the series) and shows a fighting move directly from the 1984 intro.
I'd like to see more on Cybertron action, you get to see city ending battles and more in-depth background of all characters. I'm hoping for a move towards heart and explosions, because carnage means more when you are attached to the character.
