Review of Bumblebee (2018) by Phil T — 03 Jan 2019

I'm not a huge Transformers fan but the franchise has been a part of my life since I was a kid and I've had respect for it. I remember being in the theater watching the first Transformers movie and being thrilled with how great the movie was, tension was building, the cinematography was amazing...

Then the robots started talking and the wheels fell off.

While I wasn't excited for Bumblebee, I admit it respected the roots of Transformers and the tone fit with the theme. I enjoyed the special effects and the story was good overall.

The high point of the movie was Hailee Steinfeld. I felt like she did a good job moving the story along and has potential for the future. John Cena was also good, as expected.

It's not a must see, but it's a pretty good watch and has some great 80's references.
