Review of Bumblebee (2018) by Leo K — 03 Jan 2019
After the first 2 transformers movies, the series started to suck... big time. The last 3 movies had absolutely horrendous stories, mixed into with action that was impossible to follow because the camera was all over the place, mixed in with humor that wasn't funny.
With BumbleBee, we get a much more compact story about a girl and her robot, which evolves into a few emotional cry-fests, coupled in with a climactic action rampage.
Overall, the acting by the girl, and her bot was very well done, and the plot was a bit light, but enough to get by.
I just didn't enjoy how BumbleBee acted like a child, despite being a trained soldier. This made no sense whatsoever on a continuity basis.. but makes sense only because it's a kids movie.
Anyways, 4/5, because it was good, but bumblebee was just too much of a... child, in a universe of killer robots.
