Review of Bumblebee (2018) by Johann M — 27 Dec 2018

I can't see why Bumblebee is getting such rave reviews. It was so lackluster. The only good part was the Cybertronian scenes and the way the original characters where designed. The poor plot and boring writing of the rest of the move was almost unbearable.

I am a TF fan from way back and still am. I even watched the Power of the Primes on Youtube and as incoherent as it was it was a better movie than Bumblebee. I understand why this was released at Christmas, it would never work as a summer movie.

Don't get me wrong it has so much potential. Bee's story was put on the back burner and forgotten for most of the movie. Transformers Prime and Transformers Robots in Disguise told the story of Bee's mission to Earth much better.

One could have taken more from TF:RID and set it in the 80's and this movie would have rocked. Mild spoiler alert for those who haven't seen the move... Bee's mission was to set up a base on Earth.

I won't tell you why he doesn't do this, but it is where the story goes down hill in my opinion. Also I was expecting to see an action movie so I am biased in my opinion. This is barely an action movie.
