First off, the good reviews arenï¿ 1/2 1/2(TM)t earned, theyï¿ 1/2 1/2(TM)re bought. Not just saying so. Almost everything in this movie is formulaic in the most obvious way. There is actually one of the worst chase scenes in this movie that I have ever seen.
The references to all things eighties seemed to be taken off of an episode of I love the 80s on VH1. You know what, it doesnï¿ 1/2 1/2(TM)t even make sense how the yellow robot becomes a beatle.
It hit me toward the end of this movie that this is actually a touchstone home video PG family kind of film disguised as a big action blockbuster.
