Review of Bullets Over Broadway (1994) by James M — 10 May 2010
I wrote this a while back: I really enjoyed Bullets Over Broadway, though it's undoubtedly shallow and I dare say forgettable. I also don't understand why Woody ALlen gets away with shamelessly using pastiche after pastiche in some of his films and gets praised for it while film snobs continuously ***** about Tarantino doing it.
I liked how he tackled his own personal guilt about choosing the business and lust over his marital obligations within the film yet without trying to justify his actions.
