Review of Bullets Over Broadway (1994) by Willie J — 11 Mar 2014
Woody Allen comedy set in the 1920s about a writer-director (John Cusack) who believes himself to be a true artist and manages to get his play produced, only its by a mobster who demands that his talentless girlfriend gets cast.
Along with her cones her bodyguard who actually turns out to be a better writer than Cusack's character. Cast in the lead is an aging Broadway star played perfectly by Dianne Wiest, who not only deserved the Oscar she got, but another one for the same part.
She really nails it. I found this to be a real fun flick from the Allen body of work.
