Review of Bugsy Malone (1976) by Charles L — 05 Mar 2010
If you love gangster movies, you have to take a chance to enjoy this musical jem! The performances by the child actors in this film are better than most adult actors in other films. The use of the pie in the face to symbolize death is a poetic homage to the silent picture days of slap stick vaudeville entertainment.
I guess it's also a metaphor for the loss of innocence but who's counting? I think everybody should use pedal cars and pie guns should replace real ones when your angry.
