Review of Brute Force (1947) by Mark S — 27 Sep 2011
Not one of the best prison films I've seen, nor one of the best film noirs either, but it does at least give Burt Lancaster one of his first starring roles and contains a memorable performance from Hume Cronyn as the sadistic prison guard.
The film contains some good dialogue and is suspenseful if now somewhat dated and flawed.
