Review of Bruce Lee: A Warrior's Journey (2000) by Matthew L — 28 Sep 2013
A solid documentary though at times deifies Lee far to much, particularly when wife Linda appears its as though every moment is a soundbite that could adorn a book or DVD cover. Though whilst Lee is obviously the main focus of the documentary this is less about him and more about his struggles with creating both 'jeet kune do' and 'Game Of Death'.
The real joy of this documentary is the final 30+ minutes in which all surviving footage for 'Game Of Death' has been assembled according to Lee's original notes. There are dozens of, if not more, documentaries out there about Lee and whilst this isn't comprehensive 'warts and all' it's easily one of the best.
