Review of Brotherhood of the Wolf (2001) by Alistair P — 28 Oct 2008
Looks great, but hamstrung by a convoluted plot (which is the main cause of the rather bloated running time) and the lack of any sympathetic characters.
Many of the fight sequences are heavily indebted to The Matrix. The overuse of slow-motion dates this film horrendously.
On the positive side, Vincent Cassel is quite good as a slimy nobleman and the music is very atmospheric.
Essentially, this film is trying to do too many things at once and as a result, doesn't do any of them particularly effectively.
