Review of Brother Bear (2003) by Jorge Eduardo S — 16 Aug 2012
Believe it or not, "Brother Bear" is one of my favorite Disney films. It was a bright spot in an otherwise dark age for the Mouse House. What I love about the movie is that it never does what you would expect.
This could have very easily been a preachy, animal rights story that used cheap gimmicks to get its point across. Instead, "Brother Bear" is universal in its messages and has a surprise ending that leaves one satisfied.
And in the grand tradition of Disney's classics, it's an epic tale filled with magic, adventure, and heart. I wouldn't hesitate to call "Brother Bear" a true masterpiece.
