Review of Bros (2022) by Inshane — 01 Oct 2022
"Hey, what's up?".
"Bros" was a cute and serviceable rom-com film: While the movie isn’t anything I would call “groundbreaking,” it manages to set out and accomplish what it was aiming to do… Be a good, first gay romantic comedy from a major studio. I can feel there was a good faith effort to be as inclusive as possible with as much LGBTQ+ representation as possible and every joke was handled very thoughtfully and with care. All of the running gags about Hallmark Christmas films where amazing and I kind of wish some of them would become actual movies!
Billy Eichner was hilarious and a surprisingly good singer and Luke Macfarlane might have been a bit TOO charming! The supporting cast was incredible as well, everybody brought a bit of something to the table to make this move as funny as it was.
If I were to make a slight nitpick on "Bros," I did notice a lot of obvious dub overs before cuts when characters were speaking. All-in-all, “Bros” was a fun watch and a great film to watch in theaters with friends.
