Review of Brooklyn's Finest (2010) by Joe Y — 14 Aug 2010
There is a lot of superb acting in this film. Suprisingly, one of the best performances comes from Wesley Snipes in a refreshing bad guy role. Gere's portrayal of a burned out cop is one of the best of his career.
The story and characters are intriguing. The movie starts out strong with its gritty and raw feel. However, the plot falls apart during the eleventh hour and everything comes crashing down. It was disappointing that such a fine cast couldn't overcome the flawed script.
Despite its shortcomings however, the film is still a treat to watch - if only for the amazing acting. This is a police drama that is worthwhile, though not a classic.
