There are a few similarities to Traning Day, Antoine Fuqua's other gritty crime drama. However, it is on a much complex level. It shows real struggles and it feels as gritty as it looks. Actors of high calibre also add to the story being told.
Wesley Snipes puts in a noticeable return to the world of film and it shows in the film.
