Review of Brooklyn's Finest (2010) by Jonny C — 10 Jan 2011
Decent cop drama, with good performances from all involved. Brooklyn's Finest is about 3 different cops. Richard Gere's character is a burnt out cop with 7 days left before he retires, Ethan Hawkes character is a desperate father of 3 with a wife pregnant with twins, who does whatever it takes to make a better life for him and his family.
And then you have Don Cheadle's character an undercover cop who's been under too long. Director Antoine Fuqua direction is as inconsistent as ever with a sloppy storyline that lacked anything truly memorable.
A highlight for me was seeing Wesley Snipes showing how good an actor he can be given the chance, but I felt Gere, even though he gave a solid performance, has far too much swagger to play a washed out cop.
Overall should have been better.
