Review of Brooklyn's Finest (2010) by Scott D — 30 May 2011
Antonie Fuqua seemed set for stardom after directed Training Day, which gained Denzel Washington a Best Actor Award from the Academy, but after a string of misfires it looks like he will never reach that peak again.
The three leads (Don Cheadle, Ethan Hawke, Richard Gere) all give solid performances, but the three stories about each of these cops intertwine and delivers a very unfulfilling ending.
This is no Training Day, but desperately tries to be and does not deliver. I hope Fuqua can reach that high point again because he really is a talented, but highly underrated director.
