Review of Brooklyn's Finest (2010) by Rory R — 30 Sep 2012
Strong performances from all around the park, as needed for such a dark film like this. I'm growing to like Ethan Hawke, an amazing performance by him playing a desperate father and husband having to go to dark places to provide for them.
The tension gradually builds from the first minutes of the film all the way till the end in a stylish manner, but once the film ended, I didn't feel satisfied. The ambiance of the film is perfect matching perfectly to the characters tone, but I didn't feel that the individual storyline's had enough substance for it to have an ultimate emotional connection with viewers.
But other than that, a pretty gritty film questioning the moral's of each character.
