Review of Brooklyn (2015) by Lindley B — 13 Mar 2016

This movie was more about the life of the heroine played by Saorise Ronan than it was of Brooklyn. The acting was good, the attention to period was admirable. There were a few plot flaws, and Ronan's parts called for her mostly to play the restrained ambitious character she was from Ireland moving to the United States.

I didn't feel the part allowed much of a range of emotions or acting talents, and it was implausible how she comported herself on a return visit to her hometown given her discipline up to that point.

Still it was an enjoyable period piece reasonably well done.
