Review of Bronson (2009) by Tibor B — 03 Dec 2011
Similar to Drive, Bronson is a very stylized movie. If you don't enjoy art-house films or character studies, then this isn't the movie to watch. There isn't any plot to this movie; it's just the story of Michael Peterson, aka Charles Bronson.
Bronson is played by Tom Hardy, who is Handsome Bob in RocknRolla and Eaves in Inception. Without Hardy this wouldn't have been a good film. Not only because Bronson is basically the only character in the movie, but I don't think any other actor could have pulled this off.
He is insane! He doesn't need to say anything, just look into his eyes and you know. Hardy is brilliant! He makes the film. I would tell you to watch the movie just for Hardy's performance to know what a good acting job is without over doing it and to see if he could fight Batman.
The rest of the film is, as one person says in the movie, "interesting." I liked it though. Very creative. And the soundtrack fits the film well. Different type of music that I'm use to listening to, but it's good.
For a letter grade, I'd give this movie a B and out of four stars a three. Definitely worth seeing. Oh, just as a warning, Hardy is naked in more than just one scene and more than just a butt shot.
Yep, just a heads up.
