Review of Bronson (2009) by Douglas J — 09 Dec 2011
Bronson is an very unique and artful film. This is a true story of "Britians Most Violent Prisoner", Michael Gordon Peterson aka. Charlie Bronson, a violent and animalistic man who spent 35 years in prison and counting.
Tom Hardy gives the best performance I've ever seen from him, fully establishing a man who's motives are never explained, but a man who for 92, fights, and fights, and fights. A biopic like this is unlike anything I've ever seen.
Art and brutal violence has never blended together so unsually brilliant. Nicholas Winding Refn has outdone himself and created a film that gives the viewer an unsettling look at a man who's persistence makes you wish you were Bronson.
