Review of Broken Blossoms or The Yellow Man and the Girl (1919) by Riley H — 09 Nov 2007
I maintain it is extremely difficult to judge a teens film from now. I really don't know how. All I can say is that the plot was contrived, but the music was mostly pretty cool...mostly...and there were two neat camera effects.
Also, I love how Griffith had the balls to put DG on every single text card. Ridiculous. Apparently, I needed to be told 75 times that he personally directed the film.
