Review of Broken Blossoms or The Yellow Man and the Girl (1919) by Anne F — 21 May 2009
Interesting silent film by DW Griffiths - hopelessly overacted and melodramatic, but saved by its subject matter (domestic abuse and racism) and its depiction of life in 1919 London (although it was filmed Hollywood).
I also liked the tinting of different scenes in different colours.
