Review of Brokeback Mountain (2005) by Steven L — 26 Feb 2012
It's no surprise that Ang Lee won the Academy for best director; this movie should have won the award for best picture as well. It tackles a very real social issue--the trails and tribulations of living as a gay man in a socially conservative Western milieu, while doing it in a way that is classy and heart-wrenchingly realistic.
The acting is superb and the screenplay finely executed by Ang Lee.
