Review of Brokeback Mountain (2005) by Sumit S — 12 Feb 2013
Profoundly honest, beautifully crafted, superbly performed, amazingly scored, & arguably the boldest film I've ever seen, Brokeback Mountain is not only a fair portrayal of two men in love but an uplifting story about the greatness of love itself.
The film is amazing to look at, shot in beautiful locations & director Ang Lee left no stone unturned in fusing this heartbreaking narrative with his superbly controlled artistic flair. But the biggest strength of this film is Heath Ledger.
Jake Gyllenhaal was, no doubt, amazing but Heath Ledger went a step further & his performance is literally flawless. On an overall scale, Brokeback Mountain is not only one of those films that will stand the test of time but will keep resonating the power of thought-provoking cinema in changing viewers' perspective, forever.
