Review of Broadcast News (1987) by Sam B — 23 Jan 2011
I thought this would be a good drama about the Network News wars of the 80's. Instead it was another atypical Hollywood chick flick from James L. Brooks. But I kind of enjoyed it. Holly Hunter was adorable in this film, and Albert Brooks was worthy of his Oscar nomination.
William Hurt was too "Hollywood and 80's lead men" for my taste. A good movie, but one I'll forget I've seen ten years from now. Might I add though it was a movie ahead of it's time with it's message about entertainment news is more appealing than actual news.
