Review of Bringing Out the Dead (1999) by Julie May T — 20 Jan 2008
It may be better than "The Departed," and deserved best picture and best director for 1999. The theme was compassion versus repulsion, and it's perfect. It certainly brings to mind "Taxi Driver," but that comparison is unfair.
The antagonist is the same - New York and the decline of Western civilization - but the protagonist is far different.
