Review of Bringing Out the Dead (1999) by Clint D — 15 Mar 2010
This has always been one of my favorite Martin Scorsese pictures and it's because it oozes with his signature style and benefits from a stack of great performances. All the supporting characters are so damn fun to watch, you just want the movie to have a few extra scenes with each of them and I think Nicolas Cage is the only actor that could have played the lead, which he nails.
Ving Rhames' character Marcus is one of my favorites in all of film. "I'll preach heaven and beat the hell out of you!".
