Review of Bringing Out the Dead (1999) by Sol H — 30 Jan 2011
Fs like a companion-piece to Taxi Driver, essentially being the same film but following a paramedic rather than a taxi driver.
The film itself is nicely constructed but doesn't really offer much beyond some nice direction and shots. That said, Nicolas Cage is absolutely outstanding and offers the best performance of his that I've seen to date (which is actually saying something in my opinion; I like the man).
Personal enjoyment: 6/10.
