Review of Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia (1974) by Brian P — 14 Nov 2006
The only film Peckinpah considered his own is probably his most bleak film. He had complete creative control for this film and it shows. It's one of the best noir classics from the 70s.
Warren Oates (western icon) takes the role and gives it foul grandeur to which you constantly have a love/hate relationship with this character.
The beginning when the supposed husband breaks his daughters arm pretty much sets the tone for this gritty masterpiece.
