Review of Bright Future (2003) by Arnold P — 03 Jul 2008
Oh look, another tale of alienated Japanese youth..two brothers working in a paper towel factory, plot to release poisonous jellyfish into the waterways of Tokyo. Any film that has Asano in it is worth a look in my book, but his presence distorts the balance of this movie.
..for goodness sake...its Asano....if he could turn down the charisma, I'd believe in his character. And Shunji Iwai covered this ground in the extraordinary Lilly Chou-Chou. Overall, this is not a bad movie, it just seems a little pointless.
