Review of Bright (2017) by Gee V — 11 Jan 2018
It's pretty obvious how hard the director and writers were trying to frame the ideas of race relations in the movie, but that's a layer of the film that the average viewer isn't going to bother with.
What most people will see is a fun movie that is more of an exploration of the idea of: what if we let the Lord of the Rings progress past the defeat of Sauron and advance time to the modern age. What results is just a fun movie to watch.
The action is gritty, the fight scenes are dirty, and there are enough plot holes to feed fan speculations for years.
