Review of Bright (2017) by Zach N — 12 Mar 2018
I THINK THE CONCEPT OF THIS FILM IS GREAT AND REALLY WANT MORE AS IT AIMS TO COMBINE 2 GENres that I personally enjoy. I do feel certain aspects of the film were rushed, and when I first came across it on netflix I thought it was a series until 30 minutes and I as thinking this is going through the motions pretty quick.
I think a tv series would have been better for this story. Nick was a great character and probably one of the most true to self characters. Ward on the other hand was torn between his feelings. I dont fully understand all the hate his character is getting like nobody has seen a main character struggle with personal issues and finding that balance on which line they stand.
Yes a lot of the racially charged issues in the movie are very overt, but as is the time we currently live, and to be honest I dont mind it as every race in this movie has their issues leading to general AWARENESS that everyone should be more thoughtful in how we treat one another.
I want to see more of this story unfold and TRULY transform into that FANTASY buddy cop movie everyone hoped Bright would be.
